Nosterfield Quarry

Nosterfield Quarry in North Yorkshire is a large sand and gravel quarry within the River Ure lowlands. Argus Ecology have carried out ecological impact assessment of a proposed extension, including surveys of otter, birds and vegetation. The existing workings are being restored to create significant new wetlands, as well as a small area of calcareous grassland, established on a newly-exposed outcrop of magnesian limestone.
