Energy-from-waste plants: Shildon Biomass Energy Centre
The scope of this ecological impact assessment included bat emergence and activity surveys of old industrial buildings, following consultations which suggested there was a roost nearby. Potential air quality impacts on a calcareous grassland of European conservation interest were assessed using data from the Air Pollution Information Service. These were cross-referenced with a pollution dispersion model commissioned by the client from specialist air quality consultants.
